Dube

Dube is a historic, relatively affluent residential neighborhood in Soweto, Johannesburg, established in the 1950s for the Black middle class and named after educator John Langalibalele Dube.


I was born and bred in Dube.



Spaza

Not to be confused with Spaza shop... Is the name used to refer to Xhosa rap or Xhosa hip hop. It is not clear how the name went from being a kasi shop to a music genre.


You know guys from cape Town like listening to Spaza music.



Chiller

A chiller is the name given to a diehard fan of the popular South African podcast called Podcast and Chill with MacG.

I never miss an episode of Podcast and Chill because I'm a true Chiller.

Snokonoko means money, tjhelete ,zaka,moola,magumba and I would encourage majita to have it

A plastic miner’s helmet cut, moulded and painted to make headgear worn by fans at football matches.

Chalo

Literally meaning "world" or "country," but in Zambian slang, it is used to express excitement, enthusiasm, or to say something is excellent or the best. It's similar to saying "let's go!" or "it's on!"


The music festival last night was amazing. Zambia ku chalo!



Mdidi

A vulgar or explicit way to say butt or ass.

Do not say this to anyone or you will be moered. 


You are mad, mdidi wakho. 



Fit-ish

Someone who likes the idea of being fit but also likes food.


I may look fit but I regard myself as fit-ish.
