Bundle of joy

A bundle of joy is a toddler or a small child.
The term was populirized on social media when mothers posted pictures of their children with the caption "My bundle of joy".


These bundle of joys should go back to school full time. There's no peace when they are around the house all day.

This is a Xhosa figure of speech that describes hunger or poverty. It directly translate to "a cat is sleeping in the fire (cooking) place (or stove if you may say)". So the cat is sleeping where people are supposed to be cooking because there's no fire and no food to cook.


Grandma had to send the kids back to their mothers because ikati ilele eziko.

Indutsu is a Xhosa vulgar word that means butt or ass.

Not to be confused with a town (place). To town is the act of having unprotected sex (skoon). It is generally used by Xhosa people.

Having sex without a condom.

Tikoloshe

In Zulu/Xhosa mythology, Tikoloshe, Tokoloshe, Tokolotshe, De'Avion or Hili is a dwarf-like water sprite. It is considered a mischievous and evil spirit that can become invisible by drinking water or swallowing a stone. Tokoloshes are called upon by malevolent people to cause trouble for others.

Is a Xhosa term used when you don't know the name of something or the term for something. Can also be used when you don't know someone's name.

Is A South African slang term for food or eating.


The only thing I want now yi gawula.



Mpimpi

Impimpi is a South African term for a snitch.


Impimpi used to be burnt during the apartheid days.
